To search for off-fleet flight options you must be set up with the Sourcing Portal in NextGen. Once this functionality has been added to your account, you can run quotes on both your own fleet as well as other operators' fleets to find the most efficient and cost effective option for your flight.
To begin, create a quote from the trip screen. Next, enter your requester details and fill out the requested itinerary as is outlined in the "Create a Quote" article published in the Help Desk.
Once the itinerary is complete, click on the "Generate Options" button on the bottom left side of the screen.
Options for your fleet will appear on the top of the list with options from your off fleet partners appearing at the bottom of the list. Use the filters on the left to specify requirements such as price range, operator, safety certifications, and aircraft specifications. Both the on and off fleet options will be adjusted based on the filters applied.
When a decision has been made, check the box next to the option (or options) you would like to offer to customer and click on the "Save For Quote" button in the bottom right corner. A quote will be created for the options selected. If an Off Fleet tail is being offered, the quote will appear with a notice at the top that an Off Fleet Option has been selected.
The flight charges of the off fleet option will be displayed as the complete cost to the customer. The pricing will take into account the cost of the off fleet tail, the seller's mark up to the client, and all taxes that have been designated in the program.
Once the customer has accepted the quote, click on the three dots to the right of the quote you'd like to schedule and select the "schedule" option.
NextGen will prompt you to confirm scheduling.
By clicking Yes, the trip will appear on your schedule board, however you need to call the aircraft operator directly to confirm the trip. NextGen does NOT send the message to the operator; this is a manual call that needs to be made by the charter buyer.
The aircraft operator contact information can be easily found under the Aircraft tab.
Once the operator has been contacted and the charter is confirmed, the aircraft operator will also select the Schedule option in their system so that the trip will appear on their schedule screen.
Any updates or changes to the trip will need to be communicated to the aircraft operator via phone or email; NextGen does not currently have the ability to communicate these changes between the buyer and the seller, but will in the future.
